Bridal Boot Camp – Day 54
Day 54 – August 28
Quadzilla vs. Bridezilla
If you are like me, you probably watch a ton of the wedding shows as a guilty pleasure. I’ve done this ever since I discovered TLC in college. “Say Yes to the Dress” is one of my favorites. “Four Weddings” is good too and there are a host of other ones. I really love watching it when they show a Bridezilla. It’s fun to dislike a person who is supposed to be the center of attention. The best is when the brides just goes off her rocker about something that should never have been a big deal. I don’t have a lot of experience being a bride, but I have been to lots of weddings, and I have heard lots of personal horror stories from bridesmaids.
I get that weddings can be stressful. Trust me… planning one from 12,000 miles away hasn’t been a walk in the park. But I’ve genuinely enjoyed every bit about it (maybe not working on the seating chart). And I’ve loved working out with the Arena District Athletic Club as part of their Bridal Boot Camp! So in that spirit I decided to put together a workout list that brides should have to do whenever they do any of the following:
1. You try to spend more than the budget allows on your dress = 50 squats
2. You yell at any of your wedding vendors = 50 plate pushes
3. You try to permanently change the look of someone in the wedding party = 1 minute wall sit. Two minutes if it’s the groom.
4. You throw something the day of the wedding = 50 box jumps
5. You angry cry the day of the wedding = 50 kettlebell swings
6. You make someone cry the day of the wedding (not happy tears) = 50 Hamstring Curls
7. You kick someone out of the wedding = 50 side lunges
This my friends is how you become a Quadzilla instead of a Bridezilla. I must say, I’m pretty proud of how far my legs have come. While I was doing a lot of the above prescribed moves, I was hating them, but now I just want to give a big thank you to all the instructors and personal trainers who pushed me to get through all of them. I am much stronger now because of all of it.
Now I’m ready to relax and bust a move – fit bottomed girls REMIX – to some of my favorite tunes.
If you are interested, you should come try it for yourself. Just tell them that Charlie sent you! You can also sign up for Bridal Boot Camp and help get your body into the best shape you can for your big day.
